Pressure on teachers' workload

When teachers all share the same goal, and wish the school to make progress, it inevitably brings about increased workload. Firstly, we have tried to see if our teachers have over-worked, and consult them before starting new plans. Secondly, we'll make the monitoring of teachers' workload a criterion in deciding on new plans. Last year's ESR report also included some such suggestions. So after that we gave teachers a questionnaire to collect their views about which tasks to be trimmed. The views collected were discussed one by one at the administrative committee meetings. For suggestions that were workable, they were implemented, and for others, we would explain to teachers why they couldn't be trimmed.
