There is a lot of work for teachers to do. But if their workload is too heavy, their lesson preparation and teaching will be affected. So we made some adjustment in the timetable. All through the years we have been having collaborative lesson planning after school, and so teachers' teaching load has to be reduced to allow them time for this. The school makes use of the capacity enhancement grant and other funds to recruit additional teachers and teaching assistants. The average teaching load has thus been reduced in recent years. A couple of years ago, each teacher had a reduction of one lesson, and in the next year, another 3 lessons will be off, making it a total reduction of 4 lessons already. We hope this will give more time to teachers to do their preparation of lessons.
