How ESR helps school develop

Mr Lin Man Sheung
Pui Kiu Primary School
Principal

First of all the principal must help teachers to take a positive attitude to the challenges and threats, and at the same time to turn these into a driving force to focus on school development. If ESR were seen as a threat, how would teachers and the principal face it? I told my staff that we had no choice but to do ESR, and whether this would turn out to be good or bad depended on how we looked at it, for different perceptions would bring different outcomes. We decided to look upon ESR as something positive, because even if the results were not so good, it would be good for the school to make improvements. If the results were good we could be happy and continue our good efforts. With this in mind, our teachers felt more positive about ESR, and more willing to help the school develop.
