Reducing teachers' workload

Our school has scheduled collaborative lesson planning in the timetable as far as possible, and capacity enhancement grants are used to employ a number of resource teachers, who help with non-teaching tasks or administrative tasks such as decorating the notice boards and preparing notes to parents. Sometimes if teachers are required to observe a lesson for lesson study and swapping of lessons could not be done, resource teachers may be assigned to cover teachers going to take part in the lesson study. In addition, every Thursday afternoon, we had two lessons of multiple intelligences time, when outside tutors will be employed to conduct special activities. That's why we will have two periods weekly to have our planning sessions and meetings. It adds to our workload, but since the school has reduced our non-teaching duties, teachers can concentrate on matters to do with learning and teaching.
