ESR does produce pressure on teachers, but on knowing about ESR the school adopted an open attitude and made an announcement at the staff meeting. Our school also decided to take this as a chance to review our inadequacies and areas for improvement, and not to focus only on getting better results, or forcing anybody to be more accountable. Once this direction was set, everybody felt better, and we hoped to use this opportunity to improve our teaching and the school's administration.
